Mr. Nelson    Biology I     50 Minutes    Period 2    June 10th

Objective: The student will create a poster outlining the rules and procedures for biology I.

Materials: Paper, pencil, poster board, directions worksheet, markers.

Bell Work: Review from the previous lesson (rules and procedures)

Set: State that you will be passing out a very important worksheet and that if they are able to complete it with a score of 80 percent or above, they will receive tickets to start off the day. Depending on the students, move on when they are finished. Lecture on following directions. In science it is always best to read over things before you begin answering them. Following directions and reading questions in their entirety rarely hurts you on an exam. Today we will be working on an easy assignment if you follow directions. Make sure you include what I ask you to include and you will all get 100 percent. Today we will…state objectives.

Procedure:

1.    Review some procedures

2.    Hand out poster assignment

3.    Observe students as they work

4.    Collect work.

Closure:  Review the importance of directions and the problems not following them can get you in. Verbal review. Preview the next lesson.

Assessment:

Formal: The student will create a poster (M) outlining the rules and procedures for biology I (C). The poster will be graded and recorded in the grade book (D).

Informal: The teacher will observe student participation (M) while they create posters outlining the rules and procedures (C).
